In December 2023 the impact investing class completed due diligence on 4 inspiring early stage social enterprises. It was a difficult decision, but under the guidance of the alums who made up the Investment Advisory Council the students reached consensus to recommend investment into Afterlife. Our partner ORFL agreed and the investment was made.
Afterlife is a circular mushroom farm that contracts to take waste from NYC restaurants, turn it into a substrate to grow mushrooms and then sell the mushrooms back to restaurants and other food outlets. They focus on products development providing chefs with new varieties and interesting flavor profiles.
