The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Due to finals, all may not be calm on campus right now, but it sure is bright, thanks to the denizens of Lloyd, who—as is tradition—have decorated their doorways in festive, seasonal style. The 17-year-old custom, known as Lloyd Lights, adds some much-needed good cheer to this often stressful time and illuminates north campus during the darkest days of the year. With ornaments, holly, many strands of different colored lights, and (in the case of Lloyd 31-32) a waddle of light-up and cut-out penguins, this year’s decorations were especially cheery.

Students’ Council, who sponsors the event and usually chooses the winner of the best-decorated doorway, opened up the voting to the entire campus this semester. And the people have spoken, choosing 71-72, with its abundance of twinkle lights and animatronic reindeer, for the $100 first prize.

There is still time, however, to make your voice heard by voting in the ongoing (unofficial, but still fun anyway) poll. Voting will be up through the end of the year, even if the lights will not. (They must be taken down by the semester’s end, which is Dec. 22.)
