New Events: Tri-Co Tech Days!

You tech-savvy students may remember “Tri-Co Big Tech Week” from last year, but this year, we have organized so much tech programming that we can’t fit our whole schedule into one week- or even one month for that matter! So, we are super excited to announce the 2019 TRI-CO TECH DAYS! These days span across September, October, and November, and include employer info sessions, alumni career chats, technical skill development, and lots of recruiting/hiring opportunities! Tri-Co Hackathon

Technical Skill Development

Dates: Sept. 27-28, 2019

Location: Haverford, VCAM, Various Rooms

About: No experience necessary – Trico Libraries Digital Scholarship Group invites students of all abilities and interests to participate in the 2019 Trico Hackathon. Learn new skills and create projects that serve local community groups including Puentes de Salud and Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity in areas of need, or on self-designed initiatives. If you’re interested in building web or mobile applications, designing interfaces, collecting data, creating multimedia art, etc.,  we encourage you to join us at Haverford College on September 27th and 28th!

Liz’s Bio: Elizabeth (Liz) Hercher is the Director of Client Insights Analytics at Xandr, AT&T’s digital and video advertising technology company. Liz came to Xandr by way of AppNexus, a digital advertising platform company that was acquired by AT&T in June 2018. Liz had worked at AppNexus since March 2013, beginning her tenure there as a Technical Account Manager working with buy-side and sell-side clients. In this consultative role, Liz not only gained value customer service experience and knowledge of the product and industry, but she also began building her technical skills through on-the-job training. Recognizing her passion for this technical and analytical work, Liz moved to the Analytics side of AppNexus, where she has spent the last 4 years working in Client Insights Analytics.

Client Insights Analytics (CIA) leverages large volumes of platform-wide data to build analyses and custom UIs that help our clients achieve their digital advertising performance, delivery, and user reach goals. The team employs multiple languages and tools, such as SQL, Python, Flask, Docker, and APIs, to manipulate and visualize data to help them tell their client’s story. As the head of Client Insights Analytics, Liz’s role calls on her background in research, customer service, and leadership to manage a team of exceptional analysts and determine the strategic direction of the business within the ever-changing world of data science and analytics. She enjoys splitting her time between working with her teammates to advance their careers, further developing her own technical and analytical skillset, and collaborating with other leaders across the company to use data to inform their most difficult decisions.
