{"id":294,"date":"2010-11-16T11:30:36","date_gmt":"2010-11-16T16:30:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.haverford.edu\/blogs\/astronoblog\/?p=294"},"modified":"2010-11-16T11:30:36","modified_gmt":"2010-11-16T16:30:36","slug":"hubble-gotchu-first-installment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.haverford.edu\/astronoblog\/2010\/11\/16\/hubble-gotchu-first-installment\/","title":{"rendered":"Hubble Gotchu &#8211; first installment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Over the summer, there was a fantastic set of Hubble Space Telescope <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/topics\/people\/features\/nasa-gotchu.html\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">comedy\/outreach pieces<\/span><\/a> done by the character Milky J, culminating in his trip to NASA&#8217;s Goddard Flight Center.<\/p>\n<p>The students in my Fall 2010 Astronomical Ideas class just collaborated on podcasts inspired by Milky J&#8217;s love for HST.  They investigated one of: M87, the Red Rectangle Nebula, the Bubble Nebula, the M22 globular cluster, or the M64 Black Eye galaxy.  Students then developed an mp3 recording based on their findings.  Every one of the presentations were fantastic in different ways.<\/p>\n<p>Here are five of the podcasts, one for each of the 5 objects that students had the option to study&#8230; and for each podcast here, there is another equally good one I didn&#8217;t post!
