About
Thanks to funding from the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship (CPGC) and the Provost’s Office, Visiting Professor of Economics Biswajit Banerjee and 17 students from his class, Economics of Transition and Euro Adoption in Central and Eastern Europe, are traveling to Europe for fall break (October 7-15).
The goal of the trip is to experience and better understand the practical application of transitional and macroeconomics using the Euro and current European economic crisis as a case study. The class will spend the first half of the week attending lectures at the European Commission in Brussels and then travel to Frankfurt, Germany, where they will meet with officials from the European Central Bank and the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. The Director of the CPGC, Parker Snowe, and Professor of History Linda Gerstein will also accompany Professor Banerjee’s class.
