Hi Chris

I travelled throught Tibet in 2005 and visited Jyekundo for a few days. I was searching for rare and unusal birds with some friends. We travelled over the plateau from Xining to Qinghhai Lake, Rubber Mountain, Gong-he, Madoi, Er La Pass, and other places I can't recall without my notes. Your description of the place is wonderfully accurate. Like nowhere else on Earth. The vast spaces and the huge skies take your breath away.

I also taught English for a few years overseas so I can doubly empathise with you! I wish I were there. I hope you have an amazing time and come back with lots of fantastic memories that will never leave you.

I've been on that road, and you describe it wonderfully.
My husband is from Nangchen (Xiangda, 4 hours from Jyekundo,) and I completely understand your difficulty with the language. My Tibetan is a smattering of Lhasa dialect as the exile community mostly speaks, and of the Nangchen my husband teaches me.
I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your posts.
