HD Photos – Round 2
I just posted a new set of HD photos – from a bunch of dives we’ve done over the past few weeks. Again, photos are attributed to the Advanced Imaging and Visualization Labratory, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, Copyright 2008. Thanks to Maryann Morin for the support!

Dear Adam:
I just love reading your blog. I feel like I am on this sea adventure right along with you. Thanks for taking the time to keep us all informed on all the great knowledge your group is collecting and experiencing. This gives the rest of us commoners the chance to go on such a terrific journey that otherwise we would just dream of. Also, thanks to the captain and crew on taking us for a tour of the ship and their seafaring lives. That was very interesting. I am emailing my brothers the site for your blog, because I know they would really enjoy reading it, especially my bio-brother in CA. Safe journey and The Goodmans look forward to learning more as the days go by. Hope to see you over the next few months to hear more in person.
Gratefully yours, Sue Goodman

Adam – the photos add a lot of color to the commentary. One question: Are the man made objects placed there for contrast/size – or are they as found on the ocean floor??
Looking forward to seeing you on your return.

All of the man-made objects in this album were found in situ – the plastic and cardboard must have been dropped by a ship, and the fishing equipment was stranded by a trawler, presumably. The only things we leave on the sea floor are iron weights – to balance Jason and maintain adequate buoyancy as we collect samples. We’ve also lost a couple of tools along the way…
A new post is coming – we’re on the home stretch!
