Paris, France
Barcelona, Spain
Aconcagua, Argentina
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The landscapes I’ve encountered are absolutely breathtaking. The dog belonged to our guide, who was a modern gaucho who had only left that little town called Uspallata only twice in his lifetime, and who had worked with Brad Pitt during the movie Seven Years in Tibet as they filmed part of it right there in that village!
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
When I was in Dubai I received an email with this in the subject line: Dean Mancini Are You in Dubai? Milen Habte Tesfamariam, who graduated from Haverford College in 2008 said, “My mom and I thought we saw you at the Mall. If you are in Dubai, we would love for you to have dinner with us.”
There are almost 3 million people in Dubai and almost as many malls. What are the chances? I had the most wonderful evening — great food, incredible coffee made the traditional way ( and the best coffee I have ever had!)
Nice, France
I decided to take a trip down to Nice for the opening weekend of Carnaval, and to visit fellow Ford Emma Oxford ’13, who is studying abroad there! Here we are at the top of the colline, which is the big hill in Nice that has a château, several cemeteries, a waterfall, and lots of footpaths which lead to amazing views of the city. The weather in Nice (note: lack of winter jackets) was a great change from the sub-30 degree chill that lasted in Paris for three weeks!
