Hi Friends! Here's a picture from Mexico, where I am currently studying abroad. I took this photo in Celestun on the Yucatan Peninsula. Both pink and white flamingos and other birds and fish live here. I got to hear what a flamingo quack sounds like for the first time!

Hello Haverford! Paris is absolutely beautiful, especially at night. This is the Pont Saint Michel, one of the many bridges over the Seine. I took this picture after attending a (free!) organ recital at Notre Dame with a friend. I'm having a great time, but I miss Haverford!

Isle of Skye, Scotland

This picture was taken on a cliff in the Trotternish peninsula (Tròndairnis in Scottish Gaelic) of the Isle of Skye, one of the islands of the Inner Hebrides. I was trying to climb down to make friends with the sheep, but (if you can't tell) they are grazing on a near vertical slope. The Isle of Skye is one of the most hauntingly beautiful places I've ever been, with ancient black mountains, pinnacle rock formations, jagged sea cliffs, dramatic waterfalls, and amazing seafood to boot. I could not be happier that Haverford afforded me the opportunity to go to a place like this.

Berlin, Germany

Hello, Haverford! This is a picture of Berlin's famous Brandenburger Tor at sunset. It marks the spot of one of the city's gateways, back when (as is typical for medieval times) a city wall surrounded the whole thing. The Brandenburger Tor is the only one of these gates still standing, and is the symbol of Berlin. It's lived through WWI, WWII, and the Cold War, when the Berlin Wall stood right in front of it. You could say it's a kind of testament to the resilience of the German people and their ability to survive and endure, despite unimaginable bouts of horrors and cultural shame throughout their history. Or you could just say it's kinda pretty. ;) Bis später, Anna

This beautiful view is of the city of Siena from the Duomo (city's cathedral). Looking out on this gorgeous vista, I could not help but be thankful to go to a school that offers me opportunities like the very one I am experiencing now. And while I miss Haverford, I am having the time of my life here in lovely Siena, Italy! Ciao from abroad!

The Vienna Christmas Markets, or Christkindlmarkt, were the perfect end to an amazing semester. The Rathaus Christmas Market, pictured, was the most majestic of the markets scattered throughout the city. I'm definitely going to miss Vienna and passing these beautiful sites every day!

The end of Michaelmas term was really sweet, a lot of sad good byes, but it's great knowing that I have another two terms here. I'm currently in Pakistan, taking advantage of the long breaks to pursue an internship at an energy project finance law firm and a research position at a Public Policy Research Center.
