looking for the contemporary of contemporaries?? for the most cutting edge work, art fairs and biennales serve as an oasis for the next big IT. During the preparation for Mapping Identity, it’s been so exciting to see some of our artists participating in some of the most popular and cutting-edge art scenes out there…

Most recently, Gonkar Gyatso was just at Brisbane, Australia for the Asia Pacific Triennial and was at the Venice Biennale over the summer…

Over the summer, the Projects Gallery presented Glenn Kaino and the Edwynn Houk Gallery presented Lalla Essaydi at Art Basel in Miami.

Last spring at in Paris I first learned about Lalla Essaydi and Do-Ho Suh who were both featured at Art Paris under one of my favorite buildings of all time, the Grand Palais…

Around the same time Professor Solomon was at Art Dubai, one of the most exciting and newest art fairs, where she and Zoulikha Bouabdellah were one of three curator/artist teams to receive the firstĀ  Abraaj Capital Art Prize for Bouabdellah’s installation “Walk on the Sky.”

Just take this as a “sneak peek” on what to expect in the spring…
