how to prepare for an Alvin dive

1. read over the dive plan, check maps and ask questions of the more seasoned aquanauts

2. pack a pillowcase with warm woolen clothes (no synthetics) and extra socks

3. decorate a styrofoam cup to be crushed at pressure below the sea surface

4. eat some beer bread. maybe some cookies

5. try to get some sleep
