Trail of Hope Trekker Celebrates Anniversary on Campus
Last weekend, to celebrate the first anniversary of his Philadelphia-to-Oklahoma Trail of Peace walk, which stopped on campus last year, Peter Prusinowski returned to Haverford to gather people under the Penn Treaty Elm for a reading, a Native American peace dance and the planting of a new peace elm. A Future for “The Havermap”?
Now that Special Collections’ map exhibit in the library is over, what will happen to “The Havermap?” The large aerial view of the campus, conceived by Eli Blood-Patterson ’11, aimed to map the “social geography” of Haverford and invited viewers to tag different spots on campus with their recollections of personal events that happened there. Student-Created Series Brings “Mindfulness” Practice to Fords
Allie Lake ’14, Arman Terzian ’14 and Dan Feller ‘13 have organized a series of lectures and workshops, called Manage Your Mind: An Introduction to the Practice and Science of Mindfulness, designed to expose the Haverford community to a variety of perspectives on mindfulness meditation, emphasizing its role in stress-management and emotional well-being. Peabody Award Winners and Animation Software Designer Talk Animation Techniques
Peabody Award-winning independent animators Paul and Sandra Fierlinger and software developer Fabrice Debarge of France’s TVPaint will give an on-campus talk about animation on Tuesday, March 13, at 4:15 p.m. in Stokes 102 that promises to feature a screening of the Fierlinger’s work-in-progress, Slocum a Man at Sea With Himself.
