All summer, the deer have wrecked havoc in the garden. They stepped on the tomatoes, mowed down the sweet potatoes, bit the tops off the beans and left deep hoof prints all over beds where delicate seedlings were just beginning to come up. They chewed the baby pumpkins down to the vine. The deer can no longer have their way with the garden, because with the help of the Greening Haverford Fund and facilities management, we have a beautiful new deer fence around the student garden plot. This fence will boost the morale of student gardeners and ensure that bountiful produce continues to be available for the Haverford community.
