‘Tis the week before Exams and………

THREE TIPS FOR SURVIVING THE NEXT TWO WEEKS

Plan Ahead – Some study resources, such as peer tutors, may not be as available during these two weeks, but professors still hold office hours.  Take advantage of that opportunity.

 

Take small breaks from studying – There are a umber of activities taking place from now and through exam week to help with study fatigue.  See FAB and OAR events below.

 

Maintain a healthy routine – eat, exercise and sleep -  Being tired, hungry, hung over or sleep deprived are not successful strategies for doing your best work.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 19 FAB Midnight Cheesesteak Run 11:30PM

FAB is taking 50 people into Philly for midnight cheesesteaks!   The bus departs at 11:30am on Wednesday, December 19th from the Campus Center. Buses will return by 1:30am. REMEMBER: First come, first served, so come early!

Be sure to BRING CASH to buy cheesesteaks! FAB will take you out, but we won’t buy you dinner… or midnight cheesesteaks.

 

 

OFFICE OF ACADEMIC RESOURCES STUDY BREAKS

Special OARTV Guest Stars from the Haverford Student Community and Kelly Wilcox (OAR director), Lionel Anderson (OAR assistant director), and Carly King (OAR program specialist) invite students to upcoming Study Breaks at the Office of Academic Resources (Stokes 118)!

Come to our Outrageously Amusing Relaxing and fun study breaks during the reading period and exam week! The O.A.R. is offering great ways for students to unwind during the upcoming exam week.

Tis’ the season for a Study Break! Come out to the O.A.R. in Stokes 118K for a good holiday pick-me-up! Classic Holiday TV favorites will be shown for your viewing pleasure, including How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Charlie Brown’s Christmas! Delicious free holiday treats and gingerbread coffee will be provided! Want to write a warm “season’s greetings” to a special someone? Come participate in our holiday card writing station with arts and crafts on hand! There’s nothing better to help relieve some of the stress of exams than a nice holiday study break!

Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Extravaganza

Chocolate is always a dear friend when studying for finals! Take a break from finals and enjoy a Willy Wonka-themed Chocolate Extravaganza! All good things CHOCOLATE. Free hot chocolate, mocha coffee, brownies, chewy chocolate chip cookies, strawberries and chocolate dip and make your own S’mores!

At this point in the year, we all know the drill. It’s the Thursday of Finals Week. You’ll be done by 12 noon tomorrow! Might some warm apple cider help you through the night? Wouldn’t one last get-together at the O.A.R. help you to recharge your academic battery? Come to Stokes 118 for delicious free warm apple cider, coffee and baked goods!
