Stumbled across your blog and had to comment on this post. I think teaching English abroad is a great way to see the world and make an impact. Even if you didn’t think so, you did make an impact.

I taught English in Thailand and probably learned more from them than they did from me =)

it has been about the same here. Yesterday was our first rain free day since you left. There has been some sun, but each day has had some rain. Might as well move to Seattle.

I’ve been loving the different choices for breakfast here. Speaking of steamed buns, so far my favorite food is 红豆沙包, a yummy steamed bun with delicious red-bean filling. At fist-sized, it’s good for breakfast, lunch, or even a light dinner (in a pinch). The best part? It only costs 0.8元–about 12 cents.

Glad to hear that you’re able to walk around and shop. Since you can speak Mandarin, you should be able to want around for a hot breakfast, like some steam buns, and to buy unusual Asian fruit. Hope that you have a great time! Ben (HC’82)
