It’s the beginning of another exciting year at Haverford, and the CCPA has many new and noteworthy updates and events to share related to career development at Haverford. We look forward to hearing about your summers (please fill out the Summer 2014 Survey if you haven’t already) and helping you make connections between majors and careers; connect with networking, internship, and job opportunities; prepare for graduate and professional school; and strengthen your resumes, cover letters, and interview skills so you present yourself as the strongest applicant you can be.
Here a few CCPA updates and upcoming events for 2014-2015:
New and improved version of CareerConnect In addition to an extensive internship and job board, management of Bi- and Tri-Co on-campus recruiting, and a calendar of career-related events, the system offers employer and industry research tools, career interest assessments, Interview prep and other job search tools.
CCPA’s Seniors Orientation & Kick-Off and Junior Jumpstart Orientations on Wednesday, September 10 where students will learn about the CCPA’s key resources, get an overview of the new CareerConnect system, and get tips for successful job and internship searches. Sophomore Success Series and the Fall Break Career Lab are two series that will help students build on their interests and talents to explore, develop, and focus career directions. Space is limited; click here for more information and to register before 9/8/14.
Fords on Fridays Alumni Career Chats and the Alumni Perspectives Series on the CCPA Blog are a great way for students to learn about career paths first-hand and gain valuable advice for their own searches. The Fords on Fridays Alumni Career Chats series begins on 9/19 Fritz Kaegi HC ’93. You can read the latest Alumni Perspective blog posts and read Alumni Profiles on the CCPA website.
The CCPA will be hosting many other events in the upcoming year including: employers information sessions; a Case Interview Prep workshop for Consulting Careers: an Impact Investing Guest Speaker Series; a Health Careers panel; A Pre-MBA Conference; and panels for careers in Education and the Arts. We welcomed our new Pre-Health Advisor Jodi Domsky and our graduate assistant Kari Cooke. They both come with a tremendous amount of experience and enthusiasm for helping students. Please join us in welcoming them to Haverford.
