Hmm Food Logos
Some (maybe) interesting things about logos with faces; they’re so many of them represented in the food industry, and for some reason they’re often in cartoon form (even those representing actual historical people). Are these happy logo dudes/dudette doing the work of real live human beings, because the people actually selling the products, fast food workers, grocery clerks, etc aren’t providing the smiling faces? Can the mere idea of happiness, abstracted and suggested by a chubby bumble bee or a pseudo-Confederate colonel, really sell more food? A little kindness shown goes a long way. I wonder how much sales would increase if corporate employees were trained to be nicer. Can happiness, in effect, be used for EVIL?! (not that fast food is necessarily evil. I love fast food) How effectively can a happy face soften the blow of some not-so-happy things? Am I overly preoccupied with food at the moment? Harland Sanders was a real performance artist, by the way. What a strange guy.
