WHAT
A website that tries to connect all the known John Smiths in a photographic archive. It’s a photo album for a family that has never met. We will be compiling a book, a sort of yearbook, of all the John Smith’s that take part in this project.
WHY
We are interested in how so many of us can lead vastly different lives as strangers and yet share the same name. Our idea is for every John Smith to simply take a self portrait or email and existing portrait to willtherealjohnsmithstandup@gmail.com
What does it mean to be a John Smith? What does it say about who we are? What we look like? Where and how we live?
